After surrending 6 runs in the first inning, the Raiders pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in school history by beating Smithtown West 7-6 in eight innings. The Raiders scored 5 in the 6th and one in the seventh and eighth to seal the win.
Mike Bazoge, pitching on short rest in relief, held the Bulls scoreless for seven innings. he also had 2 hits on the day. The Raiders were down to their last strike when Anthony Vega hit a double through the right field fence. Kyle Wilson (3 for 4 2RBI) drove in Vega with a single on a full count.
In the eighth, Kevin Deutsch worked a one out walk. He moved to second on Terrence Bohonan's single. Mike Johnson drove in Deutsch with a single down the left field line.
In the bottom of the eighth with the tying run on second Terrence Bohonan made a great play on a soft hit ground ball to record the second out. Kevin Deutsch made the final play of the game with the runner on third. The Raiders (18-8) play Connetquot on Wednesday. They are among the final four teams left in the county tournament.
