Posted Monday, April 16, 2012 by Tony Frascogna
Dan D'Onofrio pitched a compete game and struck out 7 while surrendering only 4 hits against Ward Melville in a 6-3 win.  D'Onofrio also did it with the bat getting two hits including a double.  Peter Agnetti led the offense doubling home Matt Vogel and Justin Mercurio.  Agnettin reached base all four times.  Frank Capraro's sacrifice fly scored D'Onofrio.  Capraro later had a ground rule double to score two runs.  The eventual game winner was scored when Erich Carrol's double scored Agnetti.

The team played great defense once again including turning a double play that ended a Melville rally in the sixth when Matt Vogel threw a runner out at third, Capraro made a great tag.  Game two of the series is Tuesday at PMHS at 4:15.
