Strong Effort From Tierney Not Enough

Posted Thursday, April 19, 2012 by Tony Frascogna
The Raiders got great pitching and a great defensive effort but it was not enough as the Raiders lost to Ward Melville's ace Anthony Kay.  Dan Tierney had six strike outs in five innigs and Matt Vogel had 2 strikeouts in the sixth.  Melville scored twice in the second innning and that would be all the runs they needed on the day.  Kay struck out 13 and surrendered hits to Dan D"Onofrio and Matt Vogel.  The loss leaves the Raiders at 8-4 going into their bye week.  They play Smithtown East on Tuesday at Smithtown.
