Matt Vogel had three RBIs as the Raiders took home an 8-5 victory over William Floyd in seven innings at Patchogue-Medford High School on Tuesday.
He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fourth inning.
Jeff Faulkner looked sharp on the mound. Faulkner held William Floyd hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Dan Tierney recorded the win for the Raiders even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked five and surrendered four hits.
In the top of the first, William Floyd grabbed the early lead, 1-0.
The Raiders stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring two runs on an error and an RBI single by John Shwonik.
The Raiders added six more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A clutch error scored Jack Keough to open the scoring in the frame.
After pushing across four runs in the top of the fifth, William Floyd faced just a 8-5 deficit. An error, an error, an RBI single by McGinley, and a bases loaded walk by Tierney triggered William Floyd's comeback. Finally, Tierney got Kerman to fly out to end the threat.
