Josh Browning did his best to change the outcome, but Josh Browning couldn't lead the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity past Commack as the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity lost 6-2 in seven innings at Commack High School on Thursday.
Josh Browning put together a nice outing. Commack managed just three hits off of Browning, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his four innings of work.
Vincent Negri recorded the win for Commack. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered five hits.
Commack's Jesse Berardi, Mike Smith and Ryan Steffans combined for four hits and four RBIs.
PJ Martino took the loss for the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
The Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A double by Zach Genaway, plating Rich Ciufo and Matt Codispoti started the inning off.
Commack answered the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity's top inning with two runs of its own in the first. Commack scored on an RBI single by Jesse Berardi and an RBI single by Ryan.
Commack never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Glubiak.
Commack increased its lead with three runs in the third. A scored Jesse Berardi for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Ryan's double, scoring Iadevaia.
