Big hitting performance carries theRaiders past Brentwood 12-1
Monday was a great day for Matt Codispoti, as he hit two home runs to carry the Raiders to a 12-1 victory over Brentwood at Brentwood State Park in seven innings.
Codispoti racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Raiders. He homered in the second and fifth innings.
The Raiders beat Brentwood thanks to nine hits, including five extra base hits.
Andrew Garcia got the win for the Raiders. He allowed one run over five innings. Garcia struck out two, walked three and gave up six hits.
Joe Maselli ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 10 runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
In the top of the first, the Raiders grabbed the early lead, 1-0. A single byRonny Linsalato, bringing home Codispoti started the inning off.
Brentwood managed to score one run in the first inning on a solo home run by Maselli.
The Raiders never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring four runs on a home run by Codispoti.
The Raiders got two-run rallies in the fifth inning and the seventh. In the fifth, the Raiders scored on a two-run home run by Codispoti, scoring Rich Ciufo.
The Raiders increased their lead with three runs in the sixth. A steal of home scored Brad Malm to get the Raiders on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Ciufo's triple, bringing home Brett Malm.
The Raiders added two more runs in the top of the seventh. A single by Dan Codispoti ignited the offense,, plating Linsalato.
