The Raiders defeat Brentwood after late game, 3-2
The Raiders and Brentwood volleyed the lead five times on Wednesday, but the Raiders came out on top for a 3-2 win on Wednesday at Brentwood State Park.
The Raiders took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. A hit by pitch scored Zach Genaway and gave the Raiders the lead for good.
Rich Ciufo reached base three times. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Tristan Amone had an impressive outing against Brentwood's lineup. Amone gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out eight during his six innings of work.
Jon Warasila got the win in relief for the Raiders. Warasila pitched one-third of an inning and allowed no runs.
Justice Garcia took the loss for Brentwood. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
The Raiders jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
The Raiders scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the eighth. In the fifth, the Raiders scored on a walk by Genaway, scoring Ciufo.
