The Raiders waste 7 solid innings from Andrew Garcia, fall 2-0 toWard Melville
The Raiders' Andrew Garcia pitched seven innings, but providing enough offense to notch a victory proved difficult Monday, as the Raiders fell to Ward Melville 2-0 at Patchogue-Medford High School.
Barbieri got the win for Ward Melville. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit, a pinch hit by Jon Warasila.
Garcia ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as Ward Melville scored two runs on an RBI single by Davern and an RBI triple by Flynn.
