The Raiders dropped a 9-0 decision to Ward Melville at Ward Melville High School on Tuesday.
Mike Cardone showed good control, allowing no walks. The Raiders' pitcher pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing two earned runs and five hits while striking out one.
Brown recorded the win for Ward Melville. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered three hits.
Ward Melville's Vitale, Towle, Davern and Rizzi combined for nine hits and six RBIs.
Tristan Amone ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out five.
Ward Melville never trailed after scoring five runs in the first on a two-run double by Davern, a solo home run by Vitale, and two singles.
