The Raiders fend off Commack's late push, hold on 4-2
Commack was never able to get over the hump and overcome its troubles against the Raiders on Thursday, as Commack fell 4-2 at Commack High School after falling behind by four runs in the third inning.
Commack scored two runs in the sixth on a groundout by Lamantia and an RBI single by Quinn. Despite its efforts, Commack couldn't finish the comeback.
Ronny Linsalato boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Raiders. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.
Tristan Amone was a workhorse on the mound while bagging the win for the Raiders. Amone pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk while striking out two.
Russo was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
The lead stayed with the Raiders after the first, when they scored one run on.
