William Floyd falls 10-2 at the hands of the Raiders
The Raiders beat William Floyd on Monday 10-2 at William Floyd High School in seven innings.
The Raiders scored two runs in the sixth on the Raiders scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Vito Morabito and an RBI single by Jon Warasila.
Brett Malm had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.
William Floyd's lineup had no answer for Mike Cardone. Cardone held William Floyd hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.
Andrew Garcia got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered two hits.
The Raiders' Matt Codispoti, Malm and Brad Malm combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
Bovenzi was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked eight and struck out two.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Raiders scored one run on an RBI double by Codispoti.
The Raiders put up two runs in each of the second, third, fourth, and sixth. In the second, the Raiders scored on a solo home run by Malm.
The Raiders tallied two runs in each of the third, fourth and sixth. In the third, the Raiders scored on a two-run single by Malm, bringing home Garcia andZach Genaway.
