The Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Hauppauge and captured an 11-5 victory on Monday at Hauppauge high school.
The game was decided quickly as the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity exerted their will early with 10 runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Eric Roubal and a hit by pitch during the first inning fueled the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity's offense early.
Brad Malm racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity. He singled in the third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Even though Tristan Amone allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory. Amone struck out two, walked four and gave up nine hits.
Lazos was charged with the loss. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
The Patchogue-Medford Raiders Varsity added eight more runs in the top of the third. Anthony Schiano started the inning with a double, plating Roubal and Amone. That was followed up by Cameron Lopez's single, bringing home Schiano.
The Raiders travel to the number 2 seed West Islip, tomorrow at 4pm. Hauppauge will host West Babylon in an elimination game.
